Dragon with Benefits (Forgotten Dragons Book 4) Page 7
Immediately, unexpectedly, Petra came against his hand, quivering in release as she let out several shocked gasps. Trevor, not wanting to pull away, just relaxed his hand, letting her ride it out while he took everything in, not wanting to forget a single second of their experience together.
By the time Petra relaxed back against the bed, eyes still watching him hungrily, he could hear the edge of her thoughts, sense what she wanted.
He normally ignored human thoughts, but he wasn’t going to ignore his lover practically yelling her thoughts about wanting his clothes off.
So he took off his shirt.
And also his pants.
Petra grinned up at him, looking surprised as Trevor stepped back onto the bed in his boxer briefs. “You read my mind.”
“Or I’m just getting naked because I want you to do the same,” Trevor said quickly, grabbing her pants by the belt loops and dragging them off.
Without a word, he threw her panties aside as well, leaving Petra completely bare to him.
“Then you have to show me everything as well,” Petra said, face flushed, eyes heated. She reached up to the band of his underwear, pulling it down so his dick sprang free.
That certainly felt more comfortable. Until her hands started to stroke him.
“Hey, I didn’t say you could do that,” Trevor said, distracted by the velvet sensation of her fingertips up his shaft.
“You didn’t say I couldn’t do that,” Petra exclaimed innocently, smiling to herself as she teased him further.
If she was going to get handsy, then he was too, damnit.
He moved out of the reach of her hands for a second and spread Petra’s legs slightly. But when she reached out for him, he didn’t avoid her, letting Petra explore him as he reached his hand between her legs too.
And when he slid a finger inside, then another, her wet heat surrounding him, Trevor almost lost it right there.
“God, so tight. So wet,” Trevor said, more to himself than anything as he started to slide slowly in and out, fucking her with his fingers and making his entire body taut with the thought of the two of them joining together.
“Just don’t make me wait too long,” Petra replied, her words lost in a similar haze of desire. Her finger played over his tip as she gripped him, staring openly at his arousal.
He added a third finger, making the fit even tighter, and Petra’s eyes rolled back in her head as he continued to stroke her. His hand was covered in her slickness, and for a moment, Trevor wanted to just take a second and lick it all off.
Petra moaned, pressing herself against him, her sex clenching around his fingers, and all that wet, tight heat almost made Trevor lose control right there. Especially because Petra still had her hand on him, stroking his hard length like she was worried it would disappear if she let go of it.
Never.
“Dammit,” she said as he pulled out his fingers. “I need you.” She was already breathing heavily from the thrusting and her prior orgasm. Between that and the way she ran her hands over his tip again, she seemed halfway to heaven already.
Perfect.
He’d fuck her until she never wanted another man in her bed.
Before he lost his mind or did anything else, though, Trevor reached over to his nightstand and pulled out a condom. But before he could put it on, Petra motioned with her hand for him to relinquish it.
“Let me,” she said with a mischievous smile.
How could he possibly say no to that?
He handed her the packet, and she tore it open. But instead of throwing on the condom rapidly, she slowly slid it over the entirety of his length, licking her lips as she did.
He couldn’t help staring down at her.
“Do you think I’m crazy, taking things this fast?”
“I think you’re gorgeous, and I’m the luckiest man alive to be with you right now. That’s all I’m thinking,” Trevor replied, looking down at her naked body and trying not to come from just the sight of her.
“Oh,” she said, looking surprised before she composed herself and finished rolling on the condom.
Trevor positioned himself between her legs and pressed his hands onto the bed, lowering himself over Petra.
“Honestly, I don’t care if this is fast,” he said, getting closer as he spoke. Her entire body shivered from his proximity as his mouth nestled next to her ear. “Right now, you’re mine. I’ll take you any way I can have you.”
Trevor could hear Petra’s breath catch in her throat as he let the air from his words tease her skin. At the same time, the tip of his cock pressed against her entrance. She squirmed against him, inviting him in with a little moan.
With one motion, he thrust inside, the sensation so intense it made his body buzz from head to toe. For several moments, he held still, letting Petra adjust to the size of him until she let out a sigh of pure pleasure.
The way she made him feel was something Trevor couldn’t explain fully.
It was like something in his life finally felt whole, complete, when he was with her.
“Oh, that’s so intense,” Petra said with an aroused sigh as the tension in her expression melted into pleasure. “So good.”
Trevor smiled in pure satisfaction. When she seemed ready, he slowly moved out of her, then back in again, and she let out a moan as he filled her.
If he did nothing but make Petra come for the rest of his days, he could die a happy dragon.
Again and again, he thrust into her, sheathing himself in her wet heat as Petra threw her head back, lost to pleasure.
Both of them were glowing, sheened with exertion as they moved together.
Petra was lifting her hips to meet him. All the while, Trevor became aware of a blinding warmth that made his core feel so tight he’d never felt anything like it.
He felt like a rubber band about to snap.
“Almost there,” Petra said, closing her eyes one last time before the approaching storm.
Trevor, on the other hand, kept his gaze affixed on Petra. On the way her chest heaved with each breath. The way every nerve seemed to tense as he joined them together again in rapid succession. How she bit her plump lower lip, as if trying to distract herself from the intensity of the sensation.
Then, with the instant shift from tension to release, Petra came, pulling Trevor with her in the same moment.
It was all Trevor could do to just hold still as the most powerful orgasm of his life tore him from the inside out. Fire burned his muscles, and erotic tension released off him in waves.
But as amazing as all of that felt, he was more focused on Petra as she came, her dark hair spilling over his pillows, voice screaming his name. Her pussy squeezed him rhythmically, drawing out his orgasm, making Trevor gasp for breath.
The moments dragged out as the roar of release continued to overwhelm them both. Then, as Trevor could finally feel his muscles relax, he leaned down, wrapping his arms around Petra for just a second longer before they decided what to do next. Before the unknown of “after” could mar the perfection that was making love to this persistent, sassy, sexy woman.
“Stay the night,” was all he could muster as he felt Petra’s hands on his shoulders relax finally. “I don’t want you leaving.”
“Are you sure?” She took a deep breath as Trevor carefully rolled off of her and lay by her side.
She looked as utterly exhausted as he felt.
“I’m positive,” he said, pulling her in against him.
He didn’t know what would happen in the future, but he knew that at least for the night, he wanted to keep her by his side as long as possible.
As she curled in to cuddle him, body soft and small and perfect, Trevor had an absolutely terrifying thought.
Was Petra his mate?
Chapter 8
As sunlight began to stream through the elegant drapes in Trevor’s room, Petra quietly left the bed, still wearing his tee shirt, and crept around the room to gather her clothing.

sp; The covers on the bed rustled, and Trevor pushed himself up, his hair beautifully mussed.
“I’m not the best morning person,” he said groggily, “but did you really think I wouldn’t notice you trying to make an escape?”
She blinked at him, suddenly nervous as images of last night flooded her mind, so hot she wanted to sink into the ground in embarrassment.
And quietly cheer in triumph.
Sex could be good. No, that wasn’t the word for it. Sex could be amazing. Passionate. Close. And it didn’t have to lead to anything. She and Trevor were still just friends, right?
She continued to pick up her clothing. “I’m sorry. I’m just not sure how this works, if you would want me here in the morning or—”
“Get back in here,” he said, reaching out a hand.
She let out a little huff, knowing she had at least a little longer to sleep in before she had to head to work. Then she walked over to the bed and climbed in under the covers, wondering if this was a really bad idea.
Trevor pulled her in against his chest, wrapping an arm around her protectively, and her heart beat a little faster even as she felt a little safer. “We’re friends, right? First and foremost.”
She flushed. “I suppose so.”
He looked down at her, and his golden eyes were calm. “I suppose that doesn’t explain it exactly, does it?”
“Friends with benefits,” she muttered. “That’s generally the term.” She scowled, thinking of all the negative connotations. Why shouldn’t people enjoy this with people they liked and were attracted to?
“Hm,” Trevor said. “I don’t know about that. Calling this ‘benefits’…”
“I know,” she replied, resting her hand on his chest. Damn, that was a mistake. His skin felt amazing.
“But you know, we can have other benefits, can’t we?”
She looked up at him, surprised. “Like what?”
“I mean, I’d still like to date you,” he said calmly.
“But you said—”
“I said I couldn’t promise anything down the road,” he said. “Not that I couldn’t be more than friends with you.”
She scratched her ear. “That’s just… It’s a little confusing, you know?”
He nodded. “I suppose. It’s a confusing situation.”
“Why can’t you—Never mind, you already said you couldn’t tell me certain things about you,” she said.
“I know. But I’m not ready to let this end yet. Are you?”
“No,” she said, shaking her head promptly. “Absolutely not. After what we had last night, I’d be crazy to turn down more of it.”
“Then why can’t we just do this? As if it could go further?”
“That’s just… harder,” she said. “And as I said, I’m not looking for anything either. I don’t want to let anyone in my life like that again. Not right now anyway.”
“I understand,” he said. “But sex isn’t enough for me. I’m not someone who does one-night stands. If we’re sleeping together, I want to be close to you also.”
“I guess we’re at an impasse, then, because getting close to you without it going somewhere sounds dangerous.”
He stroked a hand through her hair. “Aren’t friends with benefits always dangerous? Aren’t we already getting ‘close’ with what we did last night?”
“I suppose so,” she said, thinking it over. “But what do you mean by dating?”
“I just mean I would like to see you at other times than when we’re just sleeping together.”
She flushed, wondering how that would work. But it did seem more decent than what her mind had concocted in the wee hours of the morning, illicit meet-ups and hot sex and nothing else.
She did really like him, after all. And she hadn’t made a lot of friends in the area since she’d been focusing on work so hard.
“I think it’s fine,” she said, resting her head against him. “But if either of us feels like we are getting in over our heads emotionally, we should cut the other stuff off.”
He nodded. “Obviously.” His gaze went tender as he stroked her hair again. “But I just want you to know that if I could commit to someone, you’re exactly what I would want.” His eyes seemed almost sad, and she wondered what his circumstances were that he seemed to feel a relationship was outside of his power.
Why would that be?
But he wasn’t the type who would lie about it. He’d been decent and honest from the start, at least about everything they’d done since he’d kissed her.
It seemed like she could trust him and maybe they could come out of this still being friends and nothing bad would happen.
And on the other hand, it didn’t matter because she just wanted him so badly she couldn’t resist.
“I think we could do it,” she said softly. “I think we have to at least try.” She let out a long breath, her body still aching in pleasurable ways from what they’d done. “What happened last night, being with you, it was amazing. I had no idea it could be like that.”
He squeezed her slightly tighter, and his body went a bit rigid for a second before he relaxed again. “I had no idea either.”
They lay there for a second, both chokingly aware of the heat between them, the things they’d done, the things they were probably going to do next time they saw each other.
And on Petra’s side, she was oddly aware of how easily she could come to care for him. How much she needed to protect that side of her.
“Do you have work today?” Trevor asked. “I should have thought of that.”
She groaned. “Yes, but I won’t need to leave for about an hour.”
He gently extricated himself from her and tucked her in before moving off the bed. “In that case, I better make sure you have a good breakfast.” He flushed as he looked toward the bathroom. “You’re welcome to use the shower.”
“I’ll use it at home,” she said quickly. His shower sounded amazing, but getting naked in his home right now was just more than she could take. “And thanks for the breakfast.”
He sent her a wink that almost dropped her panties right there. “What are friends for?”
Chapter 9
Trevor stared at his phone, wondering what his next move should be with Petra.
He’d been relieved when she agreed to his odd suggestion of dating but staying friends. He’d always tried to be honest with women and never liked hurting them. With Petra, that urge was even stronger.
Incredibly strong.
Like the urge to be around her.
He rubbed the back of his neck and let out a groan. What did he know about dating a woman?
He knew this was risky business. He’d been too ecstatic about how amazing it had felt to be with her to really think about it until after breakfast.
Then he’d realized he really had no choice. He couldn’t commit to her because once she was a mate, Chad would need to be with her also.
They could have casual relationships on their own if they wanted.
But for Trevor, sex was a bit pointless without emotion.
Which meant he definitely had feelings for Petra, because it was like his heart had been soaring the whole time.
Trevor’s dragon was more awake than ever, stronger than it felt even when he was in dragon form.
So what did it all mean?
He was a dragon. At least sometimes. And the world, and Chadwick, needed him to be that.
He’d never wished to be human until he’d held Petra in his arms.
Well, Chad was gone on a trip with Tristan and Taylor, so that gave Trevor at least some time to pretend that he could have a normal relationship.
If he could even figure out how that looked.
Trevor pulled up his contacts and scrolled down, wondering if there was anyone who could advise him. He would normally go to Chad for anything, but he couldn’t afford for Chad to know about Petra.
Trevor’s gaze paused on Xander’s number, and he rolled his eyes as he imagined
Xander’s ridiculous teasing. Then again, he was probably the best with women. He’d won over Janet, who was a particularly tough cookie. She was just what Xander needed and the only one he wanted, and Trevor was now jealous as hell that Xander was a giga dragon and allowed to take a mate of his own.
No sharing.
But then again, Xander wouldn’t tell anyone what Trevor told him, and though he might find it amusing, he would probably try to help.
Trevor threw his pride in the garbage and dialed Xander’s phone.
“Hey, what’s up, Sushi Douchebag?” Xander’s playful voice came through the speaker.
Trevor bit back a retort because he needed Xander’s help. “I was hoping to talk to you about something. Chad and Tristan aren’t with you, right?”
“No,” Xander said. “They went on the trip with Taylor and won’t be back for a few days. I’m holding down the fort.”
“Ah.”
“So what’s up?” Xander’s voice sounded almost gleeful. “I thought you might call soon, actually. I sensed a disturbance in the force…”
“Shut up, you dweeb. I need help.”
“Damn,” Xander said. “Sounds like you’re in real trouble.” His smirk was obvious through his words. “Might want to think about being nicer to me, Trevvy.”
Trevor thought about throwing the phone, but since it wouldn’t hurt a certain irritating red dragon’s face, what was the point?
“It’s about finding a mate,” Trevor said into the phone quietly, as if someone around him could hear.
“Shit,” Xander said. “Let me leave the room for a minute.”
“Go away! We’re watching Downton Abbey!” Jan’s voice came through the speaker.
“It’s Trevor,” Xander hissed. “Mate stuff.”
“Oh my God!” Janet yelled, her voice coming into the receiver. “Hell yes! Get on that before the poor guy dies alone.”
Trevor gritted his teeth. “Thanks.”
But Xander couldn’t hear him and was still talking to his wife off the phone. “I know, right? He’s probably got cobwebs on that thing.”
Trevor felt a blood vessel pulsing at the side of his forehead and hoped it wasn’t near bursting. “If we could just get to the point…”
